This morning Ethan and I were still lounging in bed at a few minutes after seven. Then . . .we both sat up at the exact same time. Ethan looked at me and asked, "Did you feel the bed shaking?" I have to admit I didn't, so I just gave him a weird look.
A few minutes passed, and when his alarm clock went off it went right into a little report about the small earthquake we had just had. Ethan was like, "I TOLD you so!"
He's the only one I know who felt it. :)
I am behind on posting, but hopefully soon I'll have some pics from Valentine's Day and my birthday!

Holy Headache, Batman!

Last night we had to go pick up our kiddos from a long visit at Grandpa and Grandma's house. (my parents, not E's) Anyway, we had never tested to see if the three carseats would fit in his Jeep so we had to take the minivan. We had just driven to McCall and back in the Jeep and it was a piece of cake. No sliding, nothing.
The van was a different story. After we got away from the towns and were out on the open road it was a nightmare. The visibility was horrible and the road was slick. A couple of times when we had to go uphill I could feel the tires not getting traction and slipping.
On the way home the kids were like, "This is fun! Look at the snow!" and Ethan and I were like "Please don't talk. We love you; we're happy to see you . . . but please don't talk right now."
The whole ordeal made me think of the people who first settled out here in the west. I can't imagine trying to brave this kind of weather in covered wagons. It blows my mind. I think next time . . . we'll just leave our little ones with Grandpa and Grandma for one more day. :)
