Calling All Chocolate Lovers!

Found this recipe recently and thought it looked intriguing. I would try it, but with moving I'm not exactly Betty Crocker right now. :)

Chocolate Cake-in-a-Mug

1 - coffee mug (microwave-safe)

4 T. - cake flour (plain, not self-rising)

4 T. - sugar

2 T. - cocoa

1 - egg

3 T. - milk

3 T. - oil

1 - splash of vanilla

3 T. - chocolate chips (Optional)

Add dry ingredients to the mug; mix well with a fork. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in milk, oil, and vanilla, and mix well. Add chips, if using. Put mug in the microwave, and cook for three minutes at 1,000 watts. Cake will rise over the top of the mug -- do not be alarmed. When finished, carefully remove mug from microwave and allow to cool a little. Tip onto a small plate prior to serving, if desired. Yields one generous serving or two "more virtuous" servings.

You called, and I came! That looks delicious! Although, it might be sinful for me to really try it. Moderation in all things, ya know. I might not be able to stop myself from making it over and over, but that doesn't mean I won't give it a try, in like, oh, 10 minutes or so. When are you trying to be in your house and out of your old?

It's not as good as it looks! My sister tried it with her kids. They had a blast making it but after one bite each, wouldn't finish the rest :D

Yeah, I made it, and it has the texture of microwaved scrambled egg (well, that's what it is, a little rubbery). Andrea's right, it's not that good. But it is a good idea, though!

I wonder if it would be better if you add hot fudge on the top before you cook it. Anything is better with hot fudge, right?

That does look really good. But we are going to a gym here in Kuna so I better just drool over the picture :)

It was so good to talk with you again this morning at Church! I can't believe we live just down the street from you now! I told the girls about your family and they got excited and giggly, so we'll have to set something up and let the kids play. I know it's hard with kids, but when you have time give us a call. 922-4845. Our blog is luvlifestories.blogspot.com

Despite the fog, I hope you all have a good restful Sunday :)
