. . . priced at $415.00! So Ethan suggested I sew one for us. Have any of you ever made your own duvet cover? Seems like it would be easy (until I try it, that is!)
Also, when we do eventually get to our bedroom, I'd love to paint the walls a pale gray. What color/colors would look good with gray?

I don't sew at all so I'm no help there. As for decorating ideas, look through Pottery Barn catalogs, Restoration Hardware, Arhaus, and anything else you like. You can often request free catalogs online. Then try to duplicate your favorite look.
Sewing your own duvet is quite easy! My grandma made one for me for college from 2 sheets so it was white on one side and blue on the other. If you want help I'll come over with my sewing machine!! :) Have a great day!

I am not a sewer so no help there. That one is gorgeous though. I'd think blues, turquoise, greens, baby pink, black, and red all go with grey. Just depends on what mood you want in your room - bold or mellow. :)
Lavendar would go too. :)
ANY color pretty much goes with gray. I love gray!!! I just did my bedroom in it. The furniture is black and I put a deep red with it. I wanted a burnt orange color instead of the red but hubs said no. I posted pics on my blog not too long ago.
As for the duvet...I'm no help. Sorry.
i was going to point you to sugar coma's blog for pictures of what she did with her room (in grey). it looks AMAZING!
but it's true a lot of colors will go with grey... pick your favorite.
and the duvet cover. hm. well, i don't even know what a duvet is! :) hehehe
I agree with Traci--use two sheets and sew them together on 3 sides. Voila! Instant duvet. And then you can decide whether to do buttons on the end, or you could always be like me and never get around to that part. Good thing I have a footboard on my bed, because it hides my laziness! I think pale grey is so restful that it's a great bedroom choice. I say accent it with whatever your favorite color is--something that will always make you smile.
http://dillondementia.blogspot.com/2010/09/my-sanctuary.html is the link for the bedroom in grey.
and also i wanted to say, it seems to me that the more expensive the bedroom linen stuff costs the more likely it is to get torn to shreds, (just absurdly fragile and delicate), or nail polish spilled on, or peed or pooped on, or SOMETHING!

Silver, black, blue... with red accents. :)
