Flunking Homemaking

Today we tried a new recipe from a book I've had since Christmas '07. I thought since my kids love chicken nuggets they would love homemade ones even better! WRONG-O. There's something about putting spinach in the coating that freaked them out. (Who woulda thought?!)

We went to the Home and Garden show this weekend. Saw a lot of plants. Now feeling totally inadequate. This is what our entire yard looks like right now.
Now THIS is more like what I'm planning. By the end of next month.

I can dream, can't I? Seriously, I am just going to be so happy to see grass. We are waiting to hear back about our fence from the company that regulates everything from the neighborhood covenants . The covenants state that our fence has to be twenty feet back from the sidewalk (we're on a corner) and that leaves us with just a measly five feet of side yard. We need that space! Where else is our pool gonna go? :)

I totally hear you on the yard thing. I need to so desperatly get out and weed and tidy up our not so great lawn. But I hate that kinda stuff. Can I use pregnancy as an excuse not to do it?

i LOVE what you're dreaming about in regards to a yard. now THAT's where MY creativity sets in!!!!! you see beyond those tall trees, there's a huge garden growing all sorts of fruits and veggies. and then, on the other side of that fence (that's not in the picture... because of the covenants) is steak on top of steak, chasing more steaks --for ethan to o.k. the garden, of course.
my girls went with their nana to that lawn and garden show on saturday. i'm glad you made it. when you're ready for help... let me know! :)

When you are done with your yard, will you come do ours :) We do have grass and one lonely tree in the back but I would love a little more!

Have you tried any other recipes out of that book? I am not sure what to think of it. The whole concept of the book. I want my kids to acquire the taste and liking of veggies. "Hiding" veggies from them will never get them to like 'em. I like the concept of consistency. I put it on there plate everyday and eventually, one day, they will eat them. It took a few times but it worked like a charm with carrots! :)
