Painting Thoughts

Don't be scared by the pictures below. I have been playing with a painting tool from this website. It's quite addictive. So, the thing is, we already have pillows, throws, and curtains in the oh-so-trendy blue and brown; should I stick with it and paint my walls to match? And which color looks best?

p.s. I already have a couple that I hate; just curious to see what you think!

I like the second picture the best (the tan one) and the third picture my second best (the light blue one)!

I like the last two best. You might look at the color I used in my living room. Belgian Sweet (behr paint) its brown but it would lend a sense of intimacy to that room.

that is a cool tool to use! I like the third one (the blue) best.

I wouldn't paint the ceiling blue. Have you thought of painting just the bottom part of the wall blue? Or maybe going with a brown to contrast the curtains and the couches? I've got paint on my mind too. hopefully in the next couple weeks we'll have the kitchen in a brown and then Aige is going to have red and brown in his. Good luck, I'm sure it will look great as you have good taste in decorating!!

What a fun tool! I like the first one and third ones the best. Although I wouldn't paint the ceiling. :)

I'm with the others--don't paint the ceiling blue, but if you go with one of the tan colors, painting the ceiling would be okay. Have you thought of doing an accent wall in chocolate brown, and the other walls in tan? I saw the brown in your pillow, which made me think of it. I painted the lower half of my bathroom walls chocolate, and I absolutely love it.

Whoops, I should have said that I wasn't really planning on painting the ceiling. I was just tired of trying to get a perfect line so I gave up and painted the whole area. :)

Nathan and I agree that the second blue one is the best (the third picture). :) Can't wait to see the new color...

A more muted #3 blue-gray could be really pretty. The cream would allow you to do bright accents: pillows, pictures on the wall, and figurines but it's much more expensive to change out accessories. You have that now but if you lean toward it, I would deepen the color. You can have the paint store blend a pint of it so you can try it before you buy it. It's a few bucks but worth it. Remember when I got the horrid brown-yellow? I had a sample & it stopped me from making a HUGE mistake. Light at different times of the day couldn't make that paint look any better. Have you considered using a lighter shade from your accent wall in the school room? If you paint the living room, you're sort of stuck carrying the color through to the kitchen. That does work quite well with red, which you were considering. I'll have to talk to you about this instead of using up all your space. It's just too late to call you!!
