Fail.
Why is it so stinkin' hard? At a friend's recommendation, we bought the Food For Life brand millet bread, because he eats a lot of sandwiches. First attempt: I made a pb & j, and he licked all the peanut butter off and left the bread sitting there. Second attempt: pb & j; he nibbled the sandwich. We also bought Peanut Butter Panda Puffs, which must have tasted like crud because he wouldn't eat a single one (although he fed several to his sisters). We bought gluten-free breakfast bars, which were so hard we could sharpen our knives on them. He has been eating a lot of rice and potatoes, fruits and vegetables. He also likes rice milk, so that's a plus.
I worry that he's not getting enough food, and wonder if this is really worth it. They say it can take six months for gluten to leave the body. Can we last that long?
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. :)
Have a happy weekend!

Thanks for posting on my blog Kimberly! I will have to tell you about what we are trying. Not so sure if it helps any. I am looking into trying the gluten/casein free diet as well. TERRIFIED! I hope you are having some luck with it. It is next on my agenda :) If you find any tasty recipes, send them my way! Hope you and your family are doing well
Wow...sounds like a tough battle! Good luck as you keep trying! How about gluten free spaghetti?
Your kitchen is pretty!
changing diet is SO hard!!! i encourage you to press on... sometimes it takes several attempts to "like" something.
Kimberly,
Glad your writing about these things. If we did the diet with Connor he would die! For real, he's so limited on what he will eat. We tried the taking of red dyes out of the diet, etc... didn't do anything for us. Con goes to Chatterpillars in Denver every Friday for an hour of OT and an hour of speech therapy. I believe that's partly why 2nd grade has been a better year than 1st. Hang in there!
