Spunky was invited recently to join a girl scout troupe. I have been thinking and thinking on it and can't make up my mind. On one hand, I love the idea. The uniforms, the friendships, the ideals . . . oh, and did I mention they are going to Sea World next year? Yeah. On the other hand, I don't know if I can handle one more activity. Two girls in ballet, two girls in Awana, homeschooling, two girls in art class, one boy doing preschool and occupational therapy. And a baby. Since I did just a brief stint of being a Brownie when I was little, I really have no idea what to expect. Anyone out there want to voice an opinion?

we highly debated it with adejay when she was this age. we debated so long, that we decided not to. i think awana is a better club option unless you're willing to commit her for the long haul.
this being said, i don't know a ton about it. my mom was a brownie and i always wanted the opportunity but i don't know anyone that did girl scouts or that does it either. maybe talk to liz...
haha, the extent of my girl scout knowledge is that they sell their cookies in march. :) beyond that, I always read that anymore kids are being "overscheduled". I know I struggle with wanting my kids doing everything. I just asked my mom and she said it's a good program, and they learn a lot of life skills. Maybe it's something you could try out for a few months and see how she likes it, and how you like adding it to your schedule.
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate already. And kids do need time to be kids too. If it's something she and you both are super-interested in, maybe it's time to talk about exchanging/dropping one activity for the other. If that's not really an option - this one might have to be tabled for now.
